What attracted you to the U of M for residency? Subspecialty-focused rotations in AP, excellent exposure for CP, strong emphasis on education with lots of research opportunities

If you weren’t a physician, what would you do? Tennis player

Rayan grew up in Khartoum city in Sudan and completed her medical training at University of Khartoum in Sudan. During her internship, she developed an interest in pathology. Then she moved to Doha in State of Qatar and did anatomic pathology training in laboratory medicine and pathology department at Hamad Medical Corporation. She chose the UMN pathology program because of the friendly working environment, significant case volume and material with subspecialty-focused rotations in AP, and excellent exposure for CP, besides the attractive nature of Minneapolis city. In addition, Rayan enjoys photography, listening to traditional Sudanese music, playing Ludo, and bowling in her free time.
